Braving the Cold
Ron Jackson spent Thursday night on the porch of a local college.
It’s his first winter being homeless, a winter that just recently began but has already set records and has taken at least three lives across southeast Michigan, leading to efforts by the City of Detroit and charitable organizations to get people off the streets and somewhere warm. For Jackson, that warm place was Pope Francis Center at Saints Peter & Paul Church in downtown Detroit, where Jackson arrived at 6:30 a.m. Friday.
