On Friday, our Bridge Housing Campus was filled with joy, gratitude and community as we welcomed Detroit Lions defensive lineman DJ Reader and his foundation, A Son Never Forgets, for a very special “Evening of Thanks” celebration.

DJ and his team created a festive and generous event for our residents, complete with gifts, winter essentials, and an incredible holiday meal. Every resident received a new coat, socks, a warm hat, a gift card, and a bag filled with thoughtful hygiene products that bring dignity and comfort during the colder months.

Dinner, catered by Hightower Catering, featured turkey, fried chicken, meatballs, greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, cornbread, and salad; an array of desserts from The Peach Cobbler Factory rounded out the meal. It was a feast that brought everyone — residents, volunteers, and staff — together in warmth and fellowship.

We are deeply grateful to DJ Reader, the A Son Never Forgets Foundation, the Detroit Lions, Hightower Catering, The Peach Cobbler Factory and everyone who volunteered to make the night so meaningful and festive for our residents who are experiencing homelessness and working toward stability. Thank you for reminding us of the hope that grows when we show up for one another!
