Cheering on the Detroit Tigers & Team PFC!
On Wednesday, September 18, we hit the ballpark in a big way for our Staff & Volunteer Appreciation Day at Comerica Park!
This year’s celebration recognized the incredible Pope Francis Center staff, as well as the dedicated volunteers who donated more than 25 hours of their time over the past year. We’re grateful every day for their commitment to our mission and work, and this week, we got to cheer them on with a day of fun, food, and Detroit Tigers baseball.
What was even more exciting was that PFC was honored as the official Charity of the Game! In addition to being featured on the stadium screens, we hosted a booth on the concourse where fans could learn more about the work we do to support Detroiters experiencing homelessness.
We were also part of the 50/50 raffle fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting PFC programs. We were especially grateful to have some of our own volunteers come and help sell tickets throughout the game.
Between the sunshine, beautiful weather and time spent together, it was a day to remember!
Thank you to the Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park, and — most importantly — our incredible community of volunteers and staff who make this work possible.
